The African People’s Convention was established on the 5th of September 2007 and officially launched at Tshwane City Hall in Gauteng on the 29th of March 2008 and the launching Conference was followed by a massive historic rally the following day at Mehlareng Stadium in Tembisa, Ekurhuleni. APC stands under the leadership of Hon member of National Parliament of South Africa and Chairperson of Standing Committee on Public Accounts (SCOPA), Cde Themba Godi, who has served as a member of the National Parliament since 2003 to date.

 APC Secretary General Cde. Hlabirwa RD Mathume.

The APC's Administration is under the watchful eye of the Party's Chief Adminstrative Officer, Hlabirwa RD Mathume who is currently a Councillor at the City of Ekurhuleni.

Cde Mathume was the first Chairperson of APC in Gauteng before he was called upon to take charge of Information and Publicity Department just before the 2009 general election.

It was in November 2009 when he assumed this huge responsibility of building a sound Political, Organisational and Administrative machinery of this glorious movement.  

APC Deputy Secretary General Cde.Sam Mabunda.

Cde. Mabunda is the man behind the effective running of the Party's Administration Office in Johannesburg.

He is APC's former Secretary for International Affairs and his legal backround come handy for policy formulation and constitutional affairs.

APC Treasurer General Cde.Meisie Maria Lethale.

The Treasurer General is Cde Maria Lethale from Sedibeng District who is a former Counsillor in Sedibeng District Municipality.

This veteran of the liberation Struggle is the brain behind the consolidation of APC Women's League into a strong force it is today in the Gender Mainstreaming politics in our Country.

She has been in this position since the formation of the APC and her knowledge of books is really  steering this crucial Department in the right direction.

APC Secretary For Publicity and Information Cde. Margaret Arnolds.

Comrade Margaret as she is commonly known in the Political arena is a veteran politician who has seen it all as she has been around for quite a long time.

Her vast experience and knowledge in Media and Communication is a plus factor for the development and general growth of the APC.

Her incredible sense of humour and her natural networking abilty coupled with writing skills makes her the ideal person for this demanding responsibility of getting the Party its needed oxygen(publicity) to progress.
